About Team Pickles

Team Pickles is a tight knit crew and there is always a feeling of teamwork and high spirits on the yard. Here is a little more about the key members of the team.

Hannah O’Kines

Hannah is Colina's Head Girl and has worked for Colina from the day she set up her yard three years ago. Hannah deals with the day to day running of the yard and is a great support to Colina. She makes sure that all the horses are looked after and turned out to the highest standard for competitions. Hannah has just purchased a new horse by the name of Hugo (Rebels Hero) who she is going to compete at BE90 and beyond this season. Hannahs biggest problem however, is that Hugo is SO lovely that Colina is trying to commandeer him for herself!

Chrissy Thompson

Chrissy is the newest member of the Team, joining us at the beginning of January 2012 having previously worked for event rider Paul Tapner. Chrissy assists Hannah and Jonny in ensuring that all the horses are beautifully looked after and the yard is kept immaculate. Chrissy has fitted into the team so easily that it feels that she been with us for years. She is looking forward to the start of the eventing season when she will be guiding Newby through his first ODE.

Alex Pickles

Colina’s husband Alex is hugely supportive of her ambitions and has worked tirelessly to install the new outdoor 60x25m school. He also maintains all the fencing and facilities around the yard and can occassionaly be found mucking out! Alex works most of the year as a XCountry fence builder for the David Evans Team and travelled to Germany to assit in building the course for the 2011 Europeans. Sadly, he has not yet found the time to build Colina her own set of XCountry jumps!

Olympia Allen

Olympia, Colina's mother, has always encouraged her career, especially whilst she set up her business - not lease of all by providing her with a yard from which to base herself! Olympia was a keen horse women in her day but now perfers gardening to mucking out!

Debbie and Clive Okines

Clive and Debbie Okines (Hannahs parents) are a key part of Team Pickles. They are always there to lend a helping hand, whether it be driving a lorry, being an amazing support team (whatever the weather) and perhaps most importantly, always providing a yummy scrummy picnic.Thankyou.

Jonny Sutton *April Employee of the Month*

Jonny joined Team Pickles at the start of July 2011. He is a great part of the team and is Hannah's right hand man. Jonny has a particular talent for stacking the muck heap, much to his co-workers delight. He has just taken over the reins of Newby, an ex-race horse from a local trainer. Jonny and Newby have a real understanding of each other and look like they are going to make a great partnership.

Suzie Allen

Suzie, Colina’s beloved sister, helps out with Colina's admin, keeps the website and facebook page updated and takes lovely photographs for the gallery. She also steps in as a groom when need be but prefers not to get her hands too dirty. Suzie has taken over the reins on Lily (Bits N Pieces) this season and is looking forward to getting out and about on her.

Max Ross

Max (Colina’s sister’s other half) is an extremely useful member of the team. Max designed and created the website and works hard to keep it looking snazzy. He is also a fantastic photographer who takes and edits many of the photos for the team, both at competitions and on the yard. The Dogs

The dogs are an important part of the team and anyone who visits the yard will know that they like to be heard-perhaps a little too much! Colina’s own dog is a flat coat retriever called Winne (or Winner) who has a shoe and food obsession. Winne is not often found without her best friend Wendy, a lurcher who belongs to Colina’s mum.

So many people have helped Colina get to where she is today and there simply not enough room on here to mention everyone individually.
Colina would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all their kindness and support:
“I am so lucky to have some of the most fantastic and supportive people behind me. They have been there through thick
and thin, without them I would not be where I am today. We are all excited about the start of next season."

Join the Team

Eventing is a fantastic sport to be involved in; it is dynamic, exciting and hugely rewarding. Getting involved with a local rider is one of the best ways to experience the excitement and fun that eventing can offer. Involvement can take many forms from full owners, part owners, sponsors, syndicates, grooms and supporters. Colina would be delighted to welcome new owners and supporters wanting to join theTeam. If you are interested in joining us or have a horse which needs producing then please do not hesitate to get in touch.
